Really Grips Phone
Found the unit is likely the best that one can buy for this function. Does have TWO ¼-20 mounting positions so it should do all I wish to do. You got to think about using it as the clamp bar will hide part of the screen if installed bar on screen side. The other way around the bar does not interfere with the screen. On an iPhone 11, the cameras are at one end of the phone so the bar does not effect usage.

Identical to the Joby Phone Clamp
I almost bought this but didn’t want to wait for delivery. I did a quick search at my local Target and found they were selling the Joby Phone Clamp which is practically identical in design and function as the Manfrotto but $8 less. I suspect the same manufacturer makes these and simply rebrands them.The Joby is excellent and I’m guessing it’s the same for the Manfrotto. My favorite feature on this is the locking mechanism on the back. I’ve read the bad reviews on the Manfrotto clamp but all you really need to do for this and the Joby is place your phone in the clamp, then adjust the lock on the back to find the perfect fit and lock in place.Voila! No more struggling to fit your phone into the clamp. Once the clamp is locked in place, it makes it much easier to insert and remove your phone. It’s a genius design and one that every phone clamp product should be using. I have been buying Manfrotto products for years and love the quality.

I have a couple phone holders that are ok. I saw this option and had to try it. Its solid, locks the phone in place no hassle. Easily thread to a tripod or monopod.

Sometimes it gets stuck
I’m a fitness instructor and I take class pictures using this clamp mounted on my tripod. Sometimes this thing gets stuck and I cannot remove my phone. It’s extremely frustrating (and embarrasing) when students see you struggle to remove the phone.

Ich brauche eher selten einen Halter für das Smartphone beim Fotografieren. Normalerweise nutze ich Spiegelreflexkameras.In letzter Zeit nutze ich das Smartphone ab und an für Astrofotografie. Dazu ist der Einsatz auf einem stabilen Stativ obligatorisch.Gute Stative habe ich mehrere. Dafür habe ich mir mal einen Smartphone-Halter mit dem 3D-Drucker gedruckt. So recht begeistern konnte mich der nicht, vor allem, wenn man das Ganze in der Dunkelheit nutzt.Der Manfrotto-Halter hat mich schon auf den Bildern überzeugt, also habe ich ihn bestellt.Und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Das Ding ist stabil, funktioniert spielfrei und lässt auch größere Smartphones inklusive einer Hülle außenrum einspannen.Von mir eine klare Empfehlung!
